Quinoa is an annual herb that grows from 3 to 6 feet high in the Bolivian Altiplano, contains more proteins than any other cereal and is particularly easy to digest as it is lighter than most grains.

Quinoa seeds are found in large clusters at the end of the stalk. Pearl Quinoa is cultivated from Challapata, Bolivia. There are more than 1800 different varieties of quinoa, those of the Bolivian Altiplano having the best nutritional values.

Nutritional qualities of Quinoa:

Quinoa is nutritionally charged and is considered one of the best sources of protein and amino acids by the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations. In addition, the World Health Organization has rated the quality of protein in quinoa as equivalent to that of milk.
This food is low in Saturated Fat, and very low in Cholesterol and Sodium. It is also an excellent source of calcium.
